7th Annual Food for Thought Tasting Gala Will Raise Scholarship Funds For 4 Local Students

PARK SLOPE – The Park Slope Civic Council is hosting the 7th Annual Food for Thought Tasting Gala this Wednesday, October 17 to raise scholarship funds for civc-minded students graduating from the John Jay Educational Complex at 237 7th Avenue.

Every year, the Park Slope Civic Council awards an educational scholarship to one high school senior graduating from each of the four high schools on the John Jay campus—Secondary School for Law,  Secondary School for Journalism, Park Slope Collegiate, and Millennium Brooklyn High School. The scholarships are awarded based on the students’ “exceptional commitment to community service.”

All the food offered at Wednesday’s event, as well as the wine and cocktails, will be donated by local merchants. Proceeds from the ticket sales ($75, $150 VIP) will go toward the scholarships.
