A 75-year-old woman was duct taped to her wheelchair and robbed earlier this month after two men forced their way into her Nostrand Houses apartment, New 12 Brooklyn first reported.

The robbery occurred at 6pm on July 16 and was reported the next day, according to the NYPD. The thieves fastened the elderly woman down before pilfering her pension check, purse, jewelry, and scarf, police say.

The NYPD did not say how the woman was released from her wheel chair.

Police are searching for the suspects, who are described as black men in their mid-20s.

The robbery took place during the same week that an 82-year-old Brighton Beach woman was raped in her bedroom after a burglar snuck into her home and held her hostage for several hours. That suspect, 18-year-old Asa Robert, was caught by police several days later.

Anyone with information about the robbery in the Nostrand Houses is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577. Police say all calls are kept confidential.
