7-Eleven Construction Slows On Beverley & CIA

Ditmas Park Big Gulp fans may have noticed a lack of activity at the forthcoming 7-Eleven at 547 Coney Island Ave. and Beverley Rd. The store’s opening, which was originally scheduled for last month and then this one, has now been pushed back, says a spokesperson for the company, until early fall.

Sadly, this means we’ll be missing Free Slurpee Day this year right in DP, but you could always trek down to 1619 Avenue M for your fix, or make your own Slurpee-esque drink (not free) at home.

Alternatively, there are plenty of other things to do on July 11, like celebrate the founding of Tijuana, Mexico, the opening of the Triborough Bridge, or the publishing of To Kill a Mockingbird. Just looking on the bright side.
