Join The 66th Precinct’s National Night Out Celebration, Tuesday August 2

Kensington, Midwood and Boro Park: Mark your calendars — Tuesday, August 2 is the 66th Precinct’s National Night Out, an annual meet and greet fête with community members, cops and local officials. The event will be from 5pm to 8pm at the 66th Precinct station house, 5822 16 Avenue at 59th Street in Boro Park.

Bring the whole family out for activities including food, games, rides, a petting zoo, giveaways, and more. This is a great chance to meet local elected officials, Communty Board 12 officers, the 66 Precinct Community Council, and, of course, the 66th Precinct Commander Captain Kenneth M. Quick and Community Affairs staff.

Designed to take back the night, the annual National Night Out event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch in the United States and Canada, and is celebrated in thousands of communities as a way of building trust among neighbors, reducing local crime and informing participants of NYPD service programs. NYPD precincts all over New York City will be hosting events this Tuesday, with neighbors and local politicians in attendance.

“… the best way to prevent crime is to know your neighbors & your surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own communities.Kay Bailey Hutchison, former US Senator from Texas, 1993 to 2013.
