62nd Precinct Honors Young Explorers And Seasoned Officers

The Law Enforcement Explorers program is held at the 62nd Precinct. The program is designed to educate young men and women, ages 14-20, about police duty. Ultimately, the Explorers Program encourages students to pursue a career in law enforcement. There are currently about 4,000 other Explorer program bases throughout various NYPD precincts.

The NYPD hopefuls at the 62nd Precinct were on had to witness a promotion ceremony for the officers of Bath Beach and receive some honors of their own.

Officer Matthew Pierre was the supervisor for the Explorers’ group. At a recent meeting, he promoted several officers. Officers Sergeant Phillip Ramos, Sergeant Anthony Gecebice, Lieutenant Hong Pang and Lieutenant Ashley Chow received promotions for their good work.

The students participated in specialized drills led by Chow, according to Home Reporter News.
