The NYPD’s 62nd Precinct sure knows how to party!
The crowds turned out for the precinct’s annual National Night Out Against Crime on Bath Avenue Tuesday evening.
From 6pm to 9pm, the street in front of the station house, at 1925 Bath Avenue, came alive with moon bounces, food, rides, music, face painting, and more. Of course there was the obligatory dance off — during which kids and cops did the Nae Nae together. A troupe of Chinese folk dancers put on a more traditional performance.
Meanwhile, politicians and community leaders mingled at the food tables behind the station house, before presenting Commanding Officer Captain Anthony Sanseverino with proclamations.
Officers at the precinct also showed off some fancy new gadgets, including a smart patrol car and a drone that hovered over the street fair all night. One technical setback arose when the choo choo train ride refused to start. Several officers tried to give the old machine a jump, to no avail.
