61st Precinct Crime Statistics: 6/14 – 6/20/2010
Felony Assault and Grand Larceny Auto both had a small increase this week, but the real story is the Burglary category. We shot up 300 percent for the week, up to eight from two for the same week last year. This brings our 28-day standing up to a 31.2 percent increase year over year, a huge leap from last week’s 5.6 percent increase.
With the nicer weather here and people going on vacations, homes are more vulnerable to burglaries. Be aware of this, and if you go away let your neighbors know to be vigilant!
