61st Precinct Blotter: Night Club Slashing, Burglaries, Robberies, And More This Week

This is a crime blotter of all the reported incidents within the 61st Precinct over the past week. We will work to do this every week, on either Monday or Tuesday.

Night Club Slashing

In the wee hours of Tuesday, November 22, at around 3am, a 40-year-old man went into the bathroom of the bar he was at on Avenue U and E 12 St. Another man followed him into the bathroom and said “give me your money,” before pulling out a knife.

The victim gave the knife-wielding thief and unknown amount of cash, but the perp still slashed away at him before fleeing the scene, according to police.

A bartender at the nightclub brought the victim to Coney Island Hospital via a car service where he was treated for lacerations on the side of his head, left forearm, and multiple cuts on his hands, back and arms, according to police.

Minor Threat

While walking home on Van Sicklen Street and Avenue V, a 15-year-old boy was motioned by two other teens to come towards them. The two teens, 16- and 17-years-old, then gave the victim a barrage of punches to his head and face, causing him to fall to the ground, according to police.

While he was on the ground, the attackers rummaged through his pockets, took his North Face jacket that contained his iPhone 6, ripped a white necklace from off his neck, according to police.

The two thieves dropped their loot down the road on Village Road North and Village Road East, according to police.

The assailants were arrested.

Home Invasion

On Tuesday, November 22, a woman left her apartment on Kings Highway and Ocen Avenue at around 2:30pm to go to a car dealership, which she was at for two hours, according to police.

When she returned she went to the upstairs apartment to have dinner with her mother. After dinner, she went back to her apartment to work but saw that a lot of her possessions had been missing.

Her front door had been locked; the burglar got in through a window that was left open. The items that were stolen include Chanel earrings, gold earrings, a gold ring, and an Apple laptop, all of which totals at $9,800 in stolen property.

Can I Get a Swipe?

Sometime in the night of Friday, November 25, someone broke into a store on Nostrand Avenue And Avenue Y and took $80 cash and $50 worth of MetroCards from the cash register.

The is a security camera at the location and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Wrong Door, Buddy

On Friday, November 25, at around 10pm, a someone tried to get into Kouros Diner on Nostrand Avenue and Avenue Z through the back door. They kicked the door until the lock broke, and the ran away, according to police.
