5th Avenue’s Sekt Scheduled To Open October 10
Otto Zizak’s new restaurant, Sekt, is set to open on October 10, and signs posted in the window of 651 5th Avenue (between 18th and 19th Street) give us a little peek inside:
Sekt is a term used in Central and Eastern Europe to describe certain special wines that possess significant levels of carbon dioxide, making them sparkling.
Starting on October 10, at 4:00pm, you will meet a family of delightful Sekt, along with some proper Champagne, Cava, Prosecco, and a few new and old world stills and lovingly produced beers.
The aforementioned sparkling pleasures will be accompanied by small plates featuring traditionally-crafted blini, potato pancakes, house-cured fish, vegetable tapenades, slow-braised meats and some surprises.
We hope you will enjoy creating your own menu by choosing a few of these morsels and pairing them with an inspiring glass of Sekt or perhaps, something entirely different.
We look forward to providing you with a memorable dining experience and hope to add an option to this great culinary scene that is The South Slope.
Congratulations to the team at Sekt, and best of luck with Thursday’s opening. If you stop by this week, be sure to let us know what you think about the new restaurant.
