The 4 Forgoes Brooklyn, And More Subway Service Changes
Below you’ll find early week subway service changes for the A, C, G, B, Q, D, N, R, 2, 3, 4, and 5 lines in Brooklyn, plus the Franklin Avenue shuttle.
Check back later this week to see what’s happening this weekend. Happy New Year! Changes via MTA.info.
3 Line
3 service is extended to New Lots Av
Late nights, 11:45pm to 5am, Monday to Wednesday through December 31
3 service operates between 148 St and New Lots Av, replacing the 4 in Brooklyn.
4 Line
No 4 trains between Brooklyn Bridge and New Lots Av
Late nights, 11:45pm to 5am, Monday to Wednesday through December 31
4 service operates between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge, making local stops. Late night 3 service is extended to New Lots Av.
For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the D or Q. For Lower Manhattan and Downtown Brooklyn, take the 2, 3, or N. For service between Borough Hall and Franklin Av, take the 2 or 3 instead. Take the 3 between Franklin and New Lots Avs. More info here.
Also, if you are anywhere near Times Square on New Year’s Eve and after midnight on New Year’s Day, expect subway service to be cramped and possibly requiring a wait for the next, less crowded, train.
Keep an eye out for changes in Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens. Schedules occasionally change, so check MTA.info for the latest updates.
