23 Brooklyn Public Schools Named Best in New York State

Brooklyn School of Inquiry & TAOTS that are co-located at this building both made the list this year.

The New York State Education Department has announced its Reward Schools – 155 high achieving and high progress schools across the state. Brooklyn is home to 23 of them.

Reward Schools recognize both, high academic achievement  – top 20% of schools based on English language arts and math performance over the previous two years, as well as high progress across student groups. New York City had 64 Reward Schools this year.

Of the 23 Reward Schools in Brooklyn, five are public charter schools, District 22 was home to four and District 20 – to three exceptional schools, three schools in District 16 made exceptional progress. Here is the list by District:
