20-Year-Old Woman Arrested on Manslaughter Charge for Fatal Stabbing

BROWNSVILLE—A Brooklyn woman has been arrested for a fatal stabbing at a subway station Monday night.

At approximately 9 p.m. on July 8, in the mezzanine of the Sutter Ave-Rutland Road 3 subway station, police found a woman with stab wounds to her face, neck and arm, the NYPD says.

Medics took the victim, 30-year-old Latanya Watson of Brownsville, to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Immediately after the incident, no arrests were made.

But on Tuesday, the NYPD announced that 20-year-old Mia Simmons of Crown Heights had been arrested for the fatal stabbing. She was charged with 1st degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a deadly weapon.
