A 17-year-old student from James Madison High School was struck by a car outside of the school building on Bedford Avenue near Quentin Road yesterday, tossing him into the side of a bus and knocking him out.

The teen was left lying by the back wheels of an MTA bus at approximately 1:30pm. The bus had stopped to pick up passengers at the time of the accident, narrowly avoiding pinning the student, according to NBC New York.

The outlet reports that the teen had just left the school after finishing an exam. Witnesses told ABC News that he was running to catch the bus when he was hit by a black Inifiniti.

The driver of the car that hit him stayed at the scene. He faces no charges.

The student suffered a broken shoulder and arm, but no serious head trauma.
