We have a long list of summer camps that offer swimming. More may offer a beach day here and there, but these Brooklyn summer camps work swimming into their curriculum.

NYC Parks
NYC Parks have a number of recreational programs including summer camps. The website says the waitlist will be open in April which makes me think that they haven’t updated their summer camp page, yet. As soon as they do, available slots go quickly.

The Park Slope Day Camp

Park Slope Day Camp tries to make it easy for the parent and fun for the camper. Pick the most convenient of Park Slope Day Camp’s five locations. Flexible daily and weekly registration is available. Also choose from nine different camps that vary from circus to soccer. Check out Park Slope Day Camp’s Sports Academy if your camper wants to work athletics into the summer fun.

Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace

Registration is open online for this summer day camp. Kings Bay offers a discount for loyalty. The more years a family comes back, the larger the discount. Bus services is available.

Park Slope Armory YMCA
361 15th Street, Park Slope
Age appropriate camps for kids 4.5 to 14
Campers have access to the Armory and the elementary school across the street. Camp activities are designed for specific age groups.

Mill Basin Day Camp

There are open houses almost every weekend February – June. Campers must enroll for a four or an eight week camp. Partial week options are available.

Kim’s Kids Summer Camp

For children between the ages of 4.5-11
Kim’s Kids goes on trips every day to enjoy all the city has to offer.

Jewish Community House

For children between the ages of 3-5 and grades 1-9
Registration is open for the 87th Jewish Community House summer camps. Although the website isn’t elegant, there is an email and a phone number to call for questions. Special needs camps will also be offered.

Shorefront Y Day Camp

For children between the ages of 2.5-14
Camp reunion is this upcoming Sunday, February 9th. An early bird discount is also currently available. In addition to summer camps, Shorefront Y also hosts youth sports.

Congregation Beth Elohim’s Summer Day Camps

For children between the ages of 2-13
Beth Elohim’s summer camps are open for registration. Camps are organized by grade level and include swimming in Beth Elohim’s private pool.

Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace

Kings Bay Y has a special Hebrew dual language program. According to their website the program includes: Specialists from Israel teaching belly dancing, hip hop, dance and theater. Culture and language are intertwined.

Berkeley Carroll

For children between the ages of 8-14
Four different programs are held at Berkeley Carroll,including Curious Jane (see below). Among other things, campers will learn Spanish, arts, and toy building.

Long Island University

LIU offers discounts for campers related to staff, students, or who sign up for the full 6-week program.

New Adventures Day Camp

For children entering grades K to 10
Held at PS 277, this camp offers everything a traditional camp offers including swimming, arts and crafts, and sports.

Packer Summer Camp

For children between the ages of 4-12
Campers are required to register for a 2-week minimum (with the exception of the first session.) Campers also bring their own lunches, but they have access to St. Francis College’s Olympic size pool and two large gyms. Its not all sports; campers also put on a talent show.

Poly Prep Country Day School

For children ages 3.5 to 15
Walking onto Poly Prep’s 25 acre, tree filled campus is like being transported out of Brooklyn and into a utopia. Poly Prep runs 11 specialty camps including baseball, lacrosse, and soccer.

Camp Olympia

For children between the ages of 4-17
Registration is open for this swimming and sports camp. Parents can get the deposit refunded if they change their mind before May 1. Bring a baseball glove and a water bottle.
