15-Year-Old Girl Taken Into Custody After Cops Find Two Bullet-Riddled Bodies At The Sheepshead Bay Houses
Police took a 15-year-old girl into custody after authorities discovered two bullet-riddled corpses Sunday night inside an apartment at the Sheepshead Bay Houses, according to the NYPD.
Police said they found the bodies inside the fifth-floor apartment just after 8pm. One of the victims, a 38-year-old woman, died of multiple gunshot wounds. The other body, belonging to a 40-year-old man, had also been shot multiple times as well as stabbed, according to authorities.
The bodies were decomposing by the time police arrived, according the Daily News. The woman was found dead in a bedroom chair and the man’s body was discovered on the kitchen floor. Police recovered a knife as well as a bullet casing in the apartment, the Daily News Reports.
Cops were called to the residence by the cousin of the girl taken into custody after she reportedly gave her relative a chilling admission: Her mother had ignored accusations that her boyfriend had raped the teen several times and so the girl murdered both of them, according to the Daily News.
Police are also investigating whether the teenager had acted with an accomplice during the murders, the Daily News reports.
The teenager was arrested at her cousin’s home in Sunset Park, according to the newspaper. She was taken to the 61st Precinct in Sheepshead Bay where she reportedly told authorities that she committed the murders on on December 27, the Daily News reports.
Update [January 4, 11:20am]: Cops have identified the victims as 38-year-old Rosie Sanchez and 40-year-old Anderson Nunez.
