Not sure where to take your little ghosts, firefighters, and cowgirls this Halloween? We’ve rounded up a list of events from this weekend until the 31st itself in and around Ditmas Park. Have a scarily good time!

Boo at the Zoo
Prospect Park Zoo
Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27, 10am-5:30pm
Tickets: Must pay zoo admission, no additional cost for Halloween activites
Learn about bats, watch baboons smash pumpkins, take a trip through the spooky barn, join a costume parade, and enjoy face painting, craft making, and more.

Halloween Extravaganza: Storytelling, Lunch & Costume Making
Brooklyn ARTery
Saturday, October 26, 11am-3pm
Tickets: $35 for entire event, or you can purchase separately for storytelling, lunch, and costume making
Award-winning storyteller Robin Bady will narrate spooky tales from 11am-noon, followed by healthy Halloween lunch making with squash, kale, and more, and finally mask or costume construction from 1-3pm.

Ghouls & Gourds

Watch out for zombies, wolf men, headless horsemen, witches, and more (which could be scary for younger children, so use your discretion) as you walk to the carnival, where you’ll find games, pony rides, face painting, and treats.

Candy & Costume Contests

Tickets: Free, but kids of all ages must be accompanied by an adult
Juan and friends will be giving out candy and holding contests in front of 593 Coney Island Avenue (between Lewis Place and Matthews Court). Contests are at 3:30 and 4:30pm, but activities are ongoing, so pop in anytime.

Halloween Parades
