Congressman Turner To Hold Satellite Congressional Field Office Events
New York – Congressman Turner (NY-09) isn’t waiting for constituents to come to his office to seek out help, he is taking the help to them. He announced today that he will be holding the first of a series of satellite congressional field office events within the 9th district.
“I want to ensure that my staff and I are able to provide the highest-level constituent services to constituents of the 9th district. These satellite congressional field office events will provide a more convenient location for many residents to receive needed federal assistance,” Congressman Turner said. “Many residents are hard-working individuals who don’t have the time to travel even a couple neighborhoods over for an appointment. As well, there are also residents of Queens and Brooklyn that have difficulty getting around. These events will provide them an opportunity to meet with someone from my staff closer to home.
The Congressman’s Senior Caseworker will be at the Sheepshead Bay Library, located at 2636 E. 14th Street at Avenue Z Brooklyn, New York 11235 on January 20th, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. He will also be at the Marine Park/Gerritsen Beach Library located at 2808 Gerritsen Ave (Barlett Place) Brooklyn, New York 11229 on January 25th between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
“It can be a daunting task to maneuver the inner workings of a federal agency. I have put together a terrific staff of caseworkers who are extremely efficient at working to resolve issues with these agencies. They have years of experience and established relationships with liaisons within these offices,” Turner said. “I have put this staff together for a purpose; to help make sure that anyone with a problem knows all the options available to them. I encourage anyone in need of such assistance to come see if my office can be of service.
These satellite field office events will continue for the duration of the Congressman’s tenure in office and will continually change locations to ultimately provide as many constituents within the 9th district a convenient opportunity to meet with members of his staff. They provide an opportunity for anyone in need of assistance with a federal issue or agency to discuss possible courses of action with assistance from the Congressman’s office if applicable. Turner’s office can help work with agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security, Department of Veterans Affairs (Pensions, etc). The Congressman’s office can help streamline the process and assist in receipt of payment and pension benefits.
