The affordable housing lottery launched yesterday for ten new rental units at 1007 Atlantic Avenue (at Classon Avenue) in Clinton Hill.

The eight-story building houses 50 residences in total, with ten reserved for affordable units, including two studios ($780/month), three one-bedrooms ($806/month), and five two-bedrooms ($973/month).

To qualify for one of the studio apartments, applicants must earn between $26,743 to $40,080 annually, while the one-bedroom apartments require $27,635 to $40,080 annually for a single person and $27,635 to $45,840 for two people.

Available Units and Income Requirements for 1007 Atlantic Avenue

The five two-bedroom units require a minimum annual income of $33,360 and a maximum of $45,840 for two people; $51,540 for three; and $57,240 for four.

All units feature white oak hardwood floors, a video intercom system, and a Bosch washer and dryer. Amenities include a landscaped roof deck, package room, bike room, and storage rooms.

Preference will be given to residents of Brooklyn Community Board 2 (which includes Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO, Fort Greene, Vinegar Hill, and Wallabout). Five percent preference will be given to municipal employees.

Five percent of the affordable units are set aside for applicants who are mobility-disabled and two percent for vision- or hearing-disabled applicants.
