Our sister site Sheepshead Bites reported yesterday that the man who allegedly shot a bread deliveryman from a roof in the Marlboro Projects in 2010 has been arrested in Puerto Rico.

Police had identified Anthony Martinez as the man who used a sniper rifle to kill driver Jorge Martinez (no relation).

According to NY1, authorities tracked down Anthony Martinez to Puerto Rico while acting on a tip from an informant. He was extradited to New York on January 6.

Detectives believe the shooter was testing out a new rifle with friends on the roof of a building in the Marlboro Houses, when he aimed it at a bread truck driven by Martinez.

Two bullets pierced the victim’s van, killing him immediately. Investigators are still attempting to identify and locate the accused sniper’s accomplices.
