Mi Pueblita: Mexican Food & Drink Options Continue To Expand In Our Area
There has been a blossoming of Mexican restaurants and food shopping options in our area over the last few years. And those options have just gotten a little sweeter.
Mexican bakery, Mi Pueblita, a new addition to Coney Island Avenue, offers a wide variety of cakes, cookies, donuts and other pastries, all created daily by a native of the state of Puebla, Rafael Rendon.
You can stop in and enjoy one of Mi Pueblita’s creations, along with a coffee, tea or hot chocolate, at their shop just south of Cortelyou Road.
Rendon told us he learned to bake in New York City after his arrival from Mexico — eventually working as a pastry chef in Italian, Japanese and French restaurants over the course of several years.
Now Rendon has his own space where he can explore his baking interests. A specialty of Mi Pueblita is Rendon’s Tres Leche cake, featuring different types of milk, just as the name suggests.
Mi Pueblita is located at 781 Coney Island Avenue, and is open seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm.
