Regular readers of this site have no doubt heard of Crunch Flatbush. Over the last year, you:

Well, it’s been one year since then and the crew at Crunch Flatbush wants to celebrate…with you! On April 25th, they’ll be having a party from 4:30pm-9pm with some great stuff going on:

Weather permitting, they also plan on using the lot across the street for group fitness classes from 4:30-6:30. It’s warming up — get outside, y’all!

For anyone who isn’t already a member, you can sign up for a free 7-day trial while enjoying yourself.

To find out how they’re feeling about turning one, the last year, and the year ahead, we caught up with Manager Raymond Gonzalez. He’s been a part of the crunch family for over 4 years, starting as General Manager at owner Assaf Gal’s other location in the Bronx. He took over as GM in Flatbush this past June. Before joining Crunch, he served in the Navy.

As you look back on the past year, what are some highlights/moments you’re proud of?

RG: Looking back, we’re proud to see in such a short time how many lives the gym has changed — from seeing before-and-after pics as well as creating a family here, from our maintenance facility techs, front desk, personal trainers, and group fitness instructors all the way to upper management engaging with the community on a daily basis. The gym is people’s sanctuary, a place where they can go so they can get their mind off of all that is going on outside in the world.

What are your hopes for the next year?

RG: Our hopes for the next year will be to continue changing lives and helping people out. We want to get engaged more in the community, not just be a company in the community but be more of a helper/supporter. We’ve already partnered with local fraternities, CAMBA, and Making Strides, and I look forward to building that list. We are more than just a gym; we are creating a second home for the community and we cherish every single member of our family.

Ray wants everyone to know that this celebration will exemplify that spirit. With the event, they are “trying to welcome everyone into the family to celebrate our first year of changing lives!”

See everyone on April 25th!
