Con Ed Construction Upends Cobblestones on Cortelyou

Con Edison has been working on a section of Cortelyou Road at East 16th Street on and off for some time now, and this morning we noticed this section of sidewalk outside of Cafe Madeline. The cobblestones, which were originally installed in 2007, were dug up as part of the work, and are still sitting in a pile (with whatever garbage has been blow or dumped in as well).

We’re just keeping an eye on it, and hope that Con Ed arranges that the stones are replaced to the condition that they were before the work was done.
