Flatbush Man Killed in Shooting at City Point Target
City Point, Downtown Brooklyn

DOWNTOWN – A man was shot and killed at the Target store in City Point last night, police confirmed.

Around 11:15 pm on Wednesday, November 7, police received a call of a shooting at 445 Albee Square, the new City Point shopping center and residential high-rise.

On arrival, officers found Carlton Spencer, 25, who had been shot in the chest at the Target on the second floor, police said.

EMS transported the Flatbush resident to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said that a 26-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene and a firearm was recovered, but it’s unclear if the arrested man was the shooter.

An investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. A Target spokesperson said that the store turned over surveillance footage to the NYPD and is keeping the store closed today at the request of police.
