Briefly Noted: Boy Rescued From Subway Tracks, Woman Punched After 2 Train Altercation & More

On Thursday morning the operator of a 5 train rescued a 12-year-old boy who was discovered on the subway tracks near Hoyt Street station in Downtown Brooklyn. In October, another quick-thinking MTA employee evacuated an entire N train after a rider poured gasoline on the floor of one of the cars in Sunset Park.
A woman’s nose was broken after a man punched her in the face outside of the Church Avenue subway station in East Flatbush. The woman got into an argument with the man on board a 2 train and the suspect followed her when she got off the train. Video footage shows the suspect punch the woman as she exits the station.
Red Hook residents are concerned about a members-only karaoke club planned for 168 Van Dyke Street (between Conover & Barnell). The 21+ space will offer 26 private rooms, alcohol, and limo service that will shuttle drunken patrons home.
