An early morning tipster notified us that Has Beans [http://hasbeansbrooklyn.com/], located on 5th Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets, fell victim to fire last night. FDNY reports that the fire, whose cause is currently under investigation, started around 11:44pm Sunday, and was under control by 12:30am.
McGovern-Weir Greenhouse
The old McGovern-Weir Greenhouse, located on 5th Avenue and 25th Street, is the only surviving greenhouse from the Victorian era left in New York City. The historic business shuttered earlier this year, but was purchased by its neighbor, Green-Wood Cemetery [http://www.green-wood.com/], for $1.6 million in February.
