CLINTON HILL – Applications are now being accepted for eight affordable units at a new development located at 840 Fulton Street (at Vanderbilt Avenue).
The available units include one studio at $867/month, 3 one-bedrooms at $931/month, and 4 two-bedrooms at $1,123/month. The units are reserved for applicants earning 60-percent of the area median income (AMI).
Annual household income requirements range from $31,612 to $43,860 for single applicants; $33,875 to $50,100 for couples; $40,492 to $56,340 for families of three; and $40,492 to $62,580 for families of four.
BKLYNER reported in October 2014 that The Daten Group purchased the site, a former Coastal gas station, on the corner of Fulton and Vanderbilt for $7.4 million with plans to develop a seven story, 40,000-square-foot building housing 38 apartments and 5,000 square feet of retail space.
In June 2015, the project architects, Kutnicki Bernstein Architects, released a rendering and updated design for 840 Fulton which reduced its size down to 20,000 square feet with 1,400 square feet of ground-floor retail. Amenities at 840 Fulton include a roof deck, residents’ lounge, fitness center, and laundry.
Preference will be given to current residents of Brooklyn Community Board 2 (50%) which includes Boerum Hill, Bridge Plaza, Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, DUMBO, Farragut, Fort Greene, Fulton Ferry Landing, Vinegar Hill, and Wallabout, as well as municipal employees (5%). A percentage of units will be set aside for applicants with mobility (5%) and vision/hearing (2%) disabilities.
