MIDWOOD – After responding to a 911 call about an assault in progress around 6:30 am yesterday morning, police arrived outside 2317 Olean Street to find a woman’s body.

Officers arrived on the Midwood block, between 23rd and 24th Streets, and discovered an unconscious and unresponsive woman on the sidewalk, with no obvious signs of trauma, said police. Arriving EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

This morning, police identified the deceased woman as Taina Lacend, 23, a resident of the Bronx.

Even with the lack of evident trauma to the body, the NY Daily News reported that the woman was found with her pants pulled down to her ankles and her blouse pushed up.

“It’s like the quietest block in Brooklyn,” a neighbor told the paper. “Nothing really happens over here.”

The Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause of death, and an investigation is ongoing.
