Wednesday Crime Blotter: Robbery in a Borough Park School, Thrown Down in Brownsville & More

BOROUGH PARK – Police are looking for a burglar who broke into a private school in Borough Park late last month.

The incident took place around 5:30 pm on Saturday, October 27, police said, at 1373 43rd Street, near 14th Avenue. Forcing his way past a secured door, the suspect stole a pair of laptops and about $1,000, police said.

The crime against a school in Borough Park follows closely on the heels of a string of robberies in the same neighborhood, where a man broke into religious institutions to steal cash and computers.

CYPRESS HILLS – Police are looking for a man who grabbed a woman inappropriately in a laundromat near the Cleveland Street J station.

The incident took place on Wednesday, October 24, around 10:20 am, said police. As the suspect was leaving the Kwik Laundry at 2987 Fulton Street, he grabbed the female victim on the buttocks, smiled at her, and exited the location.

BROWNSVILLE – After two men threw an older woman to the ground as they robbed her, police are on the hunt in Brownsville.

The robbery took place on Monday, October 22, around 7:30 pm. One of two suspects approached the 68-year-old victim from behind, grabbing her purse and throwing her to the ground as he ripped it from her, police said. The second suspect acted as a lookout.

The suspects fled on foot and the victim was treated for pain and bruising at the scene by EMS, police said.

FLATBUSH – Finally, police are still looking for the man who made a racist attack on a woman at the Church Avenue B/Q station last week. A police sketch of the suspect can be seen below:
