Tree Lighting Ceremonies in Park Slope

Love that Christmas tree ceremony but don’t feel like trekking up to Rockefeller Center? Have no fear, the Stoop is here to help. There are a couple of upcoming opportunities to celebrate the season with neighbors.

Atlantic Avenue Local Development Corporation Tree Lighting Party
WHERE: In front of the Belarusian Church, corner of Atlantic and Bond
WHEN: Thursday, November 29, 6-8pm
WHAT: Tree lighting, kids singing, Santa, and musical guests Rolie Polie Guacamole. Free holiday recipes and tasty treats are promised.

Park Slope Women’s Shelter 16th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony
WHERE: Park Slope Armory, 1402 8th Avenue
WHEN: Tuesday, December 4, 6-8pm
WHAT: There’s a tree lighting, a sweet community singalong, cookies and cocoa.
EXTRAS: You can bring non-perishable food items for the Hurricane Sandy depleted CAMBRA food bank. Call 718-369-7226 for additional information.

The Park Slope 5th Avenue BID’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
WHERE: Corner of 5th Avenue and 3rd Street
WHEN: Wednesday, December 5 at 6pm
WHAT: As last year’s event, pictured above, shows, a tree will be lit, there will be a Santa with helpers, plus hear the MS 51 chorus and – get excited – more music by Rolie Polie Guacamole.
