The NYPD iPhone App

Anyone install the new NYPD iPhone app yet? It mostly takes things already available on the NYPD website and centrally locates them on your phone, but you can also access breaking news and easily submit tips, along with photos, directly from the app.

We have to wonder if the 70th Precinct would advise against checking the app while walking around the neighborhood or riding the subway.

For those with a phone that’s less desirable to thieves, hang tight – an Android version of the app is in the works.
