The Heights of Luxury
The Brownstone Belt is home to incredible real estate, but it is also a place that celebrities sometimes call home. This week, we will indulge in some of the more luxurious (and occasionally star-crossed) listings available in our neighborhood.
What do Superman, Willie Loman, and Jehovah’s Witnesses have in common? They’re all a part of the history of Brooklyn Heights’ The Standish, according to Brownstoner. Today, you can buy a piece of that history for a mere $2,435,000.
This 1,356-square-foot, two-bedroom is being listed by Corcoran and includes an island in the kitchen and bay windows, in addition to “rain showers” in the bathroom. Additionally, there are walk-in closets and the building is equipped with a fitness studio.
The singer Santigold has placed her Bed-Stuy pad up for sale. This four-bedroom, three- bathroom brownstone at 786 Putnam Avenue, between Malcolm X Boulevard and Stuyvesant Avenue, is available for $1,850,000. It is being listed by Helen Chee of Compass.
This unit’s styles can be… disparate, but this mish-mashed mishegoss could be perfect for the right person. Be sure to read Santigold’s interview with Architectural Digest, which includes some insight into how she outfitted the joint.
Finally, be sure to take in this eight-bedroom townhouse in Brooklyn Heights. Built in 1901, this home includes a great room (but then what are the rest?) as well as a library, which is probably useful given what became of the Brooklyn Heights Library. It is currently listing for a cool $9,250,000.
