BUSHWICK — An 18-year-old is arrested for shooting and attempting to murder a 17-year-old, back in June.

On June 28 at around midnight, a 17-year-old boy was standing on the corner of Central Avenue near Jefferson Street. Then, 18-year-old Joshua Olivacce approached him and fired several rounds at him.

The bullets struck him in the left calf and right ankle, the NYPD said. The suspect fled the location. The 17-year-old was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

On Wednesday, December 11 at around 2:50 p.m., Olivacce was arrested. Olivacce lived just a 24-minute walk from the site of the assault on Putnam Avenue between Bushwick and Evergreen Avenues.

He was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, and menacing.

Youth crime is on the rise in North Brooklyn, as we recently reported.
