The Stop Anti-Semitism Foundation (SASF) will convene its second annual Holocaust Remembrance Event at Holocaust Memorial Park, Sunday, April 19 at 12:00pm. Holocaust Memorial Park is located at the corner of Emmons Avenue and Shore Boulevard, at the foot of Sheepshead Bay.

Dedicated to “exposing violence and injustice currently targeting religious and ethnic groups around the world,” SASF has brought together a multi-generational group — including Holocaust survivors, families and schoolchildren, religious, political and community leaders — who will gather to honor the victims of the Holocaust. The event is also a rallying cry to sound the alarm about the rising tide of anti-Semitism and show support for the State of Israel.

The event will feature a solemn march in and around the park, prayers, songs, a candle-lighting ceremony, poems read by schoolchildren, and performances by singer Julia Piker and Israeli musical sensation Michel Cohen.

A number of local community and political leaders are expected to attend, as well as Rami Lubranicki, chair of Communications and Public Affairs of Israel’s Voice, as well as the son of Holocaust survivors and first cousin to Tuvia Sokolovsky, the coach of the Israeli Olympic weight-lifting team who survived the 1972 Munich Massacre; poet Shari Fridman, daughter of Maya Fridman, treasurer of Israel’s Voice, and author, lecturer, and spiritual leader Rabbi Dr. Bernhard H. Rosenberg.

Israel’s Voice, an organization that raises worldwide awareness about Israel, is a co-sponsor of the event.
