Road Rage Brawl in Greenpoint Caught on Video

GREENPOINT – A wild road rage incident that could have easily turned deadly was caught on camera in Greenpoint on Tuesday.

A dramatic video shows two men fighting in the street as one of them swings a box cutter, according to police. When the fight is over, one of the participants nearly runs the other over as he makes his escape.

A bystander caught the fight on video and turned it over to Yeshiva World News and posted on YouTube:

Police told the Post the incident began when the driver of the white car confronted the driver of the black Toyota about cutting him off, stopping at the intersection of Norman Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard.

The angry driver can be seen swinging a box cutter as the other man, wearing a baseball cap, dodges the attacks, the two men circling each other in the southbound lane.

At one point, a bystander in a white shirt attempts to intervene, getting in between the two men, but the man with the box cutter ducked into his opponent’s car to steal the keys from the ignition, police said.

As the second driver attempts to stop him, grabbing onto the white Toyota, the first driver speeds off, smashing the man into the side of a parked van, the impact knocking his shoes into the air. The collision looks gruesome, but amazingly, the man came away with only minor injuries—some cuts and a bruised hip.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital for evaluation, said police, who are now on the hunt for the driver who got away…
