Recycling Resumes

For those weary of watching the recycling pile outside collect dust, a reprieve. The sanitation department has resumed recycling pickup as of Sunday, November 11. Pickups are now supposed to be back on schedule. Has yours been picked up?

Speaking of sanitation, our Gowanus neighbors should be relieved to know the toxic waters that invaded streets and homes were not all that toxic, according to the EPA. Limited testing has revealed elevated bacteria levels due to sewage contact but the more dangerous contaminants were not present in alarming quantities.

Slowly, slowly, parts of the city return to normal.
