Police Release Identity Of Suspect Who Fatally Stabbed Coney Island Woman

CONEY ISLAND – The NYPD has released the identity of the suspect who they say stabbed a neighbor to death during a fight Wednesday night.

Forty-year-old Latrisha Moore was arrested for the murder of Shymeka Tart, police announced on Friday. Both women were residents of a building located on Surf Avenue near West 20th Street in Coney Island.

At approximately 9:30pm on Wednesday, October 11, police responded to a 911 call at the building where they discovered Tart with a stab wound to her chest, the NYPD said. She was transported to Coney Island Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Moore is being charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of stolen property.
