Person Struck By Train At 4th/9th, F & G Service Disrupted

UPDATE 11:45am: We’re sorry to report that the man who was struck by an F train at the 4th Ave/9th Street station this morning has died, according to the FDNY. There are no additional details about the victim or how the incident happened at this time.

F and G service has resumed as normal, though the MTA says to expect residual delays.

EARLIER: F and G train service has been halted in our area after a person was struck by an F train at the 4th Ave/9th St station this morning.

The FDNY tells us they responded to a patient suffering from multiple traumas at the station at about 9:20am, and that as of 10am, they were still on the scene. They were unable to say how the person had been injured, but reports on Twitter say the victim was struck and pinned by a southbound train.

The MTA says there are currently no F trains running in either direction between Church Av and Jay St-MetroTech, and no G trains in either direction between Church Av and Bedford-Nostrand Avs. If you’re looking for an alternative, consider the B57, B61, B67, and B69 buses, which make nearby stops.

Our thoughts go out to the victim, and we will update this post as we learn more.
