Updated: 13-Year-Old Pedestrian Struck, Pinned Under Car At Ditmas Avenue & Coney Island Avenue
Updated 9:21pm: Howard Jay Meyer sent us this video, taken by Izzy Weiss, of the accident, which we have learned involved a 13-year-old male victim, who was pinned beneath an NYPD van. In addition to the FDNY and NYPD, the Flatbush Hatzolah and Senior Care EMS arrived to help at the scene.
The boy was reportedly hospitalized in stable condition with a fractured pelvis, according to a report from the Yeshiva World News. We have not learned the cause of the accident.
Original post: A pedestrian was struck and pinned under a car just after 3pm today at Ditmas Avenue and Coney Island Avenue, according to reports. The NY Scanner Twitter account reported that the individual was removed by emergency personnel. The FDNY told us that they responded to the accident at 3:07pm.
Neighbor Danielle let us know that there’s a road closure now in that area, “with a lot of police presence” on CIA and Ditmas Avenue. She noted that the gas station there has also been cordoned off by police.
Additionally, the MTA reported that B8 buses are being detoured and B68 buses are experiencing delays because of the accident.
