Police conducted a search of the John Jay Educational Complex at 237 7th Avenue earlier this afternoon after a student received a call from someone stating there was a bomb on the campus.

The students of the four high schools on the campus were immediately evacuated and surrounding streets were closed off. Police rushed to the scene after receiving a call around 12:22pm about the threat.

The NYPD Emergency Service Unit conducted a search of the building and found nothing suspicious, said cops. Students and faculty were instructed to return to class at approximately 1pm.

“The threat is being investigated, just to be on the cautious side,” a spokesperson for the NYPD told Patch.

This is the second bomb scare at a school this week with Midwood High School receiving a threat on Tuesday, February 28th.

Located at 237 7th Avenue between 4th and 5th Streets, the John Jay Educational campus is home to Millennium Brooklyn High School, Park Slope Collegiate, the Secondary School for Law, and the Secondary School for Journalism.

[UPDATED] March 3, 2017, 12pm: Edward R. Murrow High School at 1600 Avenue L in Midwood also received a bomb threat this week on Wednesday, March 1, said cops. Police received a call at approximately 9:54am about a threat and went to the school to investigate, an NYPD representative says.

Students were evacuated, and after no devices were located, were instructed to return to class shortly after 11am. The investigation is on-going.
