No Parking on School Days, But There’s No School

Finding on-street parking in the neighborhood can often be one of the biggest punchlines about living here. But one block is just rubbing salt in the No-Park Slope wound these days.

There are still “no parking” signs that ban parking from 7am-5pm on school days along 8th Avenue between Carroll and President Streets, despite the Montessori School having closed over the summer. As we noted last week, the building is currently up for sale, which you would think would be enough to get those signs removed.

However, that hasn’t happened yet, and now NY1 says neighbors are getting $300 tickets for parking here. The Department of Transportation says they’ll send inspectors to investigate, so we’re hoping they’re removed soon.
