New Jewish Preschool, Gan On Greene, To Open For 2016-2017 School Year
A new preschool is in the works at 54 Greene Avenue, where it broke ground this week and will be ready to students for the 2016-2017 school year.
Called Gan On Greene, the school includes classes and activities on Jewish language and holidays and touts itself as the neighborhood’s “first Jewish preschool,” although families of all backgrounds are welcome to apply.
Admission is open for early toddlers (18-24 months), toddlers (2-3 years old), and nursery (3-4 years old) students.
“At the core of our mission is the belief that each child has unique talents, strengths and perspectives to contribute to the lives of others,” said preschool director and founder Hadassah Kirschenbaum, who has 11 years of experience in early-childhood education. “Through a curriculum focused on critical thinking, self-understanding and collaboration, we hope to identify and tap into these talents, and help each child realize their unique potential.”
Gan On Greene’s website includes contact forms for more information on cost and tours from February through June, for when the building is complete.
