Neighbors Flood The Streets For The 62nd Precinct’s National Night Out [Photos]
Once again, as in years past, elected officials, members of law enforcement, and the crowds flooded the streets Tuesday night for the 62nd Precinct’s National Night Out Against Crime at the station house on Bath Avenue and Bay 22nd Street.
Kids lined up for rides and face painting, and showed off their moves in a lively dancing contest. With the DJ spinning and moon bounces bouncing, the party was still going strong even as the sun went down.
Many colorful Bensonhurst characters showed up to the festivities, including Brooklyn Cyclones entertainer Guy “King Henry” Zoda.
Maxie Cafe (1926 Bath Avenue) provided delicious gourmet Middle Eastern food, including vegetable rolls, flat breads, baklawa, and more.
Children lined up for a chance to ride the red choo-choo train.
Some kids took turns sitting in the driver’s seat of a real NYPD patrol car and antagonizing their parents over the megaphone.
“You’re under arrest!” shrieked at least one adorable tot to her flustered mom.
Families had the chance to meet and hang out with elected officials and the precinct’s new Commanding Officer Anthony Sanseverino.
