Police charged a 15-year-old girl with murder after she allegedly confessed to gunning down two people, including her mother, in an apartment at the Sheepshead Bay Houses last week.

The NYPD announced Monday that the teen, Destiny Garcia, who lived in the apartment with her mother and mother’s boyfriend, has been charged with two counts of murder and two counts of illegal possession of a weapon.

Garcia was taken into custody for questioning Sunday night, after police discovered the decomposing corpses inside their home on the fifth-floor of the public housing complex. Cops say the mother, 38-year-old Rosie Sanchez, died of multiple gunshot wounds. Sanchez’s boyfriend, 40 year-old Anderson Nunez, had also been shot multiple times as well as stabbed, according to police.

Police came upon a grizzly scene when they entered the apartment Sunday. A police source told the New York Times there was so much blood in the apartment that it was difficult to determine how the victims had died.

The mother was found dead in a bedroom chair and the boyfriend’s body was discovered on the kitchen floor, according to the Daily News.

Police sources told the Daily News that the teenager confessed to the murders. She reportedly told officers that she had been sexually abused by the boyfriend and that her mother had assaulted her. Enraged that her mother did nothing about the abuse, Garcia pulled a .380-caliber gun out of a drawer and shot her mother twice, according to the Daily News. She then fired the gun at the boyfriend who grabbed the weapon and tried to wrestle it from teen. The fight spilled into the kitchen, where Garcia allegedly killed Nunez by stabbing him multiple times, the Daily News reports.

Garcia also told police that another teenager was in the hall when the struggle began and entered the apartment when he heard noise, according to the Daily News. Police are searching for the other teenager but it’s unclear if he played a role in the murders.

Garcia fled the apartment and went to stay with her biological father, the News reports. She reportedly partied in Times Square on New Year’s Eve — three days after she allegedly gunned down her mother and Nunez.

Cops were called to the apartment on Sunday night after they got a tip from Garcia’s cousin, to whom she had confessed to killing her mother and the boyfriend, the Daily News reports.

A neighbor, concerned that he had not seen Sanchez or Nunez for several days, also flagged down police at the scene and entered the apartment with them, reports the Daily News. Inside the blood-stained home, cops recovered two knives and several bullet casings, according to the newspaper.
