Taste Wine And Tapas At Manchego On Cortelyou Road
Manchego, a Spanish-style wine and tapas bar is open in Ditmas Park and ready for a weekend tasting.
Located in the bright red storefront at 1502 Cortelyou Road, between Marlborough Road and East 16th Street, Manchego shares a building, owner, and cook with newly opened Koko Ramen around the corner. This corner address was (most recently) home to New York Brick Pizza and Solo Kitchen and Bar.
Manchego is serving Spanish, Argentine and Chilean wines paired with small dishes. The menu is currently unlisted online, but here’s a sneak preview:
Inside, Manchego owners kept the remains of the old wooden bar, but expanded deeper into the forrest with a tree branch canopy on the ceiling, creating an arbor-like effect.
Between wooden chairs, tables, dividers, and wall panels, there’s a dark earthy atmosphere inside Manchego. Sit by the window with a group, pull up a chair to chat with the bartender, or get cozy in the back at smaller tables.
Get out to Cortelyou Road and taste Manchego’s wine and tapas menu this weekend, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
Manchego is open from 5pm until midnight, but staff told us that they won’t kick anyone out until 2am. They’re cash only for this weekend, so come prepared.
