Man Arrested for Picket Fence Burglary (And 2 Others)

Some good news in what seems like a busy summer for burglaries. The 70th Precinct reports that they arrested a man on Friday for the July 9 burglary of Picket Fence, as well as two other recent burglaries–one at a day care on Cortelyou, and one at Sprinkles, the ice cream store on Coney Island Ave near Avenue J. They say they located him based on surveillance video and evidence left at the scene, and that upon arrest, he confessed to the burglaries.

Police are still working to find the suspect in the burglary of Connecticut Muffin, as well as those responsible for several home burglaries in the area.

“We will continue to be on this in the area until this is under control,” Deputy Inspector Eric Rodriguez told us.

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified by police as 18-year-old Jermaine Romero of Ocean Avenue.
