Knapp Street Gas Station For Sale, Asking $2.9 Million

Source: Google Maps

The gas station at 2472 Knapp Street and Avenue Y is on the market for $2,900,000. The 1,512 square foot property, which currently houses a Shell gas station, is located across the street from the recently closed Burger King.

The station is still open, but at least one readers says that they often and inexplicably run out of gas. It’s also one of the few gas stations and mechanics left in the area, as several have shuttered in the last decade.

And with the edge of the shit factory wastewater treatment plant there, along with a shuttered Burger King and an abundance of Sanitation trucks – is Avenue Y and Knapp Street officially a blighted intersection?

  1. I’ve been getting my car maintained there for over a decade, including a recent lube change and inspection. The owner, Peter Lambros, is cordial and accommodating. when I used to drive a heap, I found his repair proves quite reasonable and the work was efficient.
Don’t know why they run out of gas lately but it could be due to cash flow with deliverer. However, that intersection is becoming a wart on the area.

  2. I walk thru it on my way to Gerritsen…there’s a nice black cat always hanging out by the house next to it

I’m going to buy the place. I’m turning it into a Starbucks/chase/Sushi place/Walmart, just to piss everyone off.

  3. With all those sanitation vechicles parked on the street THAT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN.
Forgot to mention that on the right day you can get the smell from “PERFUME CREEK” at no additional charge

  4. So from being approved by the community board for a new convenience store it is now up for sale? The mechanic told me last mont they are not going anywhere.
Still don’t feel I know the whole story.

  5.  ….don’t forget my favorite – the suspiciously ‘European’ independent local pharmacy!  We, obviously, can’t do with enough of them around here.

  6. I bought gas there recently.  What gas station does not have a quart of motor oil to sell?  Ummm, this one.

  7. IM ALWAYS THERE AS WELL, AND THEY ARE GREAT PEOPLE. ITS SAD TO HEAR…. BUT THERE IS ONE THING THAT SEEMS STRANGE…. I ASKED THEM ABOUT IT THIS MORNING AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A CLUE THAT ITS UP FOR SALE….

  10. In my original comment (20 hours ago) I was thinking of the station on Knapp and Voorhies. Sorry for the confusion.

  11. Does that Peter Lambros slob still own the place?  If so, I hope it falls down around his ankles and he never makes a penny!
