In January, the Kings Bay YM-YWHA unveiled its first auditorium renovation in 20 years at the main Sheepshead Bay branch.

The auditorium upgrades feature a completely new stage, new flooring, curtains, storage, and a performance space with a brand new TV and sound system, all sponsored by the Jewish Communal Fund.

Kids and adults at the Y, located at 3495 Nostrand Avenue, use the auditorium for free or low-cost performances and other multi-lingual educational programs that span the diverse cultural communities in Sheepshead Bay.

For example, for the past two years they’ve teamed up with the Turkish Cultural Center of Brooklyn to host a well-attended Ramadan Iftar feast.

The Kings Bay Y is the largest non-profit in South Brooklyn and one of the largest Jewish community centers in New York City.
