How Would You Describe Kensington?
Every once in a while someone writes up Kensington, and the summary of the neighborhood often misses all those things that you can’t explain by just visiting once. So while a recent piece in Brooklyn Exposed points out some things nicely (“A walk down these quiet, tree-lined streets feels like escaping the city”), it also leaves us scratching our heads a bit.
Are the following excerpts the way you would describe Kensington?
• Here is where Hip Brooklyn ends and Old Brooklyn begins.
• Kensington lacks the abundance of dining, drinking and nightlife options so common in nearby nabes…
• …Kensington features the standard bodega-ridden commercial landscape indistinguishable from any other neighborhood…
• For a neighborhood that revels in its anonymity, Shenanigans offers the perfect outlet.
If you were going to write up an in-depth look at the neighborhood, what would you highlight?
