If you’re looking for a better commute (being able to walk to work is pretty darn sweet), or maybe your current job just isn’t cutting it, there are a bunch of available positions in and around our neighborhood. We’ve rounded up some available gigs, and leave a comment or shoot us an email to editor@ditmasparkcorner.com if you know of others!

1. Ox Cart (1301 Newkirk Avenue) is looking for a delivery driver two nights a week, Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30-10:30pm. Responsibilities include delivering orders and returning all money and credit slips, answering phones and taking orders when possible, and stocking to go equipment as necessary. You must have a car, no bicycles. Previous experience is a plus. Please stop by the restaurant and leave you information if you’re interested, or reply to their Craigslist ad here.

2. The Flatbush Development Corporation is seeking a full-time after school program director who would be responsible for ensuring that the FDC’s afterschool program meets all program standard and funding guidelines.  The program director must be able to plan and organize a structured program consisting of educational and recreational activities according to age group, supervise staff, and maintain a high level of communication between school representatives and participants, staff and supervisors.

Plus, you’ll need to have: at least a BA/BS in education or a related field, a minimum of two years of supervisory experience, experience working with youth in school age programs., proficiency in Microsoft Office, and current First Aid/CPR/RTE certifications.

3. The Flatbush Development Corporation is also seeking two part-time applicants who, under the supervision of the office manager, would be responsible for managing their front desk and completing basic administrative tasks. Applicants should have experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, and data entry. The position consists of four hours a day, Monday through Friday. 4. The Kings Theatre (1027 Flatbush Avenue) is looking to fill several positions, including such full-time positions as an event coordinator and business manager and a building superintendent. The theatre is also seeking requests for proposals from companies that would like to oversee housekeeping at the venue.  For more information and to apply, go to the theatre’s website.

5. The group Abby on Argyle is  looking for a dog walker/pet sitter during 11am-6pm, Monday through Friday, with some off hours and weekend availability being required from time to time. 6. The Flatbush Food Coop (1415 Cortelyou Road) is looking to fill several positions, including an assistant deli manager, a manager on duty, and a cashier. 7. Café Madeline (1603 Cortelyou Road) is looking for a full-time barista. If you’d like to help the rest of us with our caffeine addictions, you’ll need to have at least one year of experience working as a barista, have (or are working towards obtaining) a city food handler certificate, be able to make latté art, and several other things that you can see in the job listing here.

8. Lea (1022 Cortelyou Road between Stratford Road and Coney Island Avenue) is looking for line cooks and kitchen staff. In their Craigslist ad, Lea says “good people with an ambition to move forward and learn are welcomed to send” their resumé. To apply, go here.
