Giving Tuesday Roundup: Local Organizations To Support Today And All Year
brooklyn community services giving tuesday

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday are in the past, but Giving Tuesday is still in full effect and there are dozens of local organizations and businesses (and schools!) that could use our support — both today and throughout the year. We’ve rounded up a few of them, with links to their donation pages.

Brooklyn Community Services
“Your gift will benefit the children that attend our Early Childhood Development and After School programs. BCS collects hundred of toys each year for children who live in underserved communities throughout Brooklyn. Your donation will help bring a smile to a child this holiday season.” Donate or get info on holiday volunteer opportunities!

Brooklyn Public Library
Love your library! $10 can put two children’s books in the hands of preschoolers; $20 can provide art supplies for branch programs for older adults; $50 can support an English class for speakers of other languages; $100 can buy four exam prep books for adult learners.

Fort Greene Park Conservancy
“Beautiful things have happened in Fort Greene Park in 2015, like the lawn work that’s given us new patches of bright, brilliant green grass all over the park and in the image above. By making a #GivingTuesday gift to Fort Greene Park, you can make programming, public art, and more restoration like this possible and help build a vibrant, thriving, Fort Greene Park in 2016.”

IMPACCT Brooklyn/Pratt Area Community Council
“Your contribution will go right to work – offering services that prevent families from being unjustly evicted, building affordable housing for needy populations, preventing mortgage foreclosures, providing financial education classes to those most vulnerable, and helping small businesses succeed. With your support, we aim to raise $15,000 to support our comprehensive services.”

MoCADA
“Help us reach our goal of raising $50,000 by December 31 by spreading the word to #giveMo to your family, friends and followers.”

Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership/Revitalization Project
Support local businesses and community projects like the Wallabout History Walks and the Black Artstory Tour.

Theatre For A New Audience
“Make a tax-deductible donation in honor of a friend or loved one, and we will send your honoree notification of your gift.” You can also give the gift of Shakespeare and classic theatre to your loved ones via a gift card.
